Newtonville MA is one of the 13 villages that make up the 11th largest city in Massachusetts, Newton. Newton North High School, one of the two high schools of Newton, is located in Newtonville. It made national news being one of the most expensive public schools ever built. But, in my humble opinion, what better use of public funds than for a school?!
Geographically, Newtonville sits in the center of Newton and is divided by the Mass Turn Pike. In fact, a great land mark is the super market that is built over the half of the Mass Pike. I thought I would never see an example of “air rights” from my Real Estate classes, but there it is!!
Newtonville has great shops, cafes’ and parks too. Cabot’s Ice Cream is a must have on a hot summer night, located on Washington Street.
The MBTA Commuter Rail station is also located in this village, making transportation readily available! Newtonville is primarily a residential neighborhood, but in the urban section of town, there are plenty of restaurants, stores, and local businesses.
