Waltham MA of Middlesex County is located just ten minutes from downtown Boston. It was also the center for the early labor movement, and a major contributor to the American Industrial Revolution. The city is home to two very prestigious institutions: Brandeis University and Bentley University.
Waltham’s nick name is “the watch city” because the businesses made more than 35 million watches and clocks over it’s long history.
Waltham is a great location for people that travel to meet clients and customers because it’s located very close to I95/128 and the Massachusetts Turn Pike. It also offers connections on the commuter rail to North Station and the express buses to Boston.
The Moody Street area has many popular restaurants and shops, Ristorante Marcellino is one of my personal favorites. There is also the renovated Embassy Movie Theater that offers left of center and foreign films.
The Charles River walkway a great place to take a stroll after a nice filling dinner, or bike to Cambridge or the Esplanade from here too!
The housing in Waltham is quite diverse. Some parts of the city (along the Newton line) offer many styles of multifamily properties. Many large apartment complexes have been built along 128/I95, like Avalon Bear Hill and Windsor Village. Northern Waltham is for the most part single family properties.
Waltham has a population around 60,000 as of 2010.
